Google really made a great decision to acquire Fitbit because they are one of the pioneers of wearables but their software is a crappy mess. Google Fit is somewhat a mess too. So with this, they can beef up the features of wearOS and GFit to cope up with other brands who already nailed the formula for a great smart watch.

Let's hope Google doesn't copy Apple again and miserably fail.

The one good thing about Google letting Wear OS languish for so long is that, in theory, it can only get better with the Fitbit acquisition. Of course, I'm sure Google will find a way to mess it up. Hardware is not their strength.

The "pizza loving" audience? What on earth are you talking about, I wonder. Something subtile? Are you acknowledging Google's connection to P3d0philia and human tra$$icking? How else is pizza relevant to this presentation?

I have a feeling somehow Google is going to fumble this one also just like the Pixel phone so far. But optimism right.

And yet you didn't highlight a single comment that disagreed with you on the pixel. I saw a few including my own.

Honestly how "Smart" should a smartwatch be? I have an Ionic and the best uses I have for it right now are Notification mirroring, alarms and exercise/health info logging. With this in mind what I want is an Ionic with better battery life, a better and bigger screen and a super smooth OS, but with the Google acquisition it is pretty certain that this is out of the cards completely. I hope that the Pebble and Fitbit IP they will be getting will be used to make a light and powerful OS with meaningful additions for users like me, but with the current Pixel design decisions I am not very sure about my wearable upgrade path.
