iPad Pro 2018 review: Beautiful, fast and not necessarily for you

Apple’s new iPad Pro gets Face ID, can pair with a better Apple Pencil, adds a USB-C port and runs with blazing speed. It’s not quite the killer super-computer for everyone, though. But who is it for? Scott Stein and New Yorker cartoonist Liza Donnelly look at what it can do.

Watch Scott unbox the new iPad Pro:

Apple is a bit elitist and snobby with the products and pencil compatibility!

As I have had 2 ipads Pro and died I'm looking at the new ipad pro and think to my self will it be more reliable? Well apple says yes and we're so confident we're reducing our warranty from 2 years to 12mths… For $1100 I think I'll keep my cash

The missing 3.5mm jack and buttons make this model less desirable than last years model to me. The smaller bezels would be the only noticeable difference during use and I could care less about it.

For the hardcore road warrior out in the streets [Über drivers, long distance travelers, Truckers, etc…] we run the best navigation money can buy and that's not gonna be a stock in-dash system. Sygic now runs realtime augmented reality navigation overlaid onto live video camera feed. Multitask with FaceTime split screen and that A12 Bionic power is appreciated. The power user out on the road at speed can truly leverage that iPad Pro strength much more efficiently than with laptops and desktops. Mounted mine to the driver's visor on the roof, just over my line of sight.

As a professional animator, I want the fully Loaded ipad pro to produce some work on flipaclip and other animation apps when travelling or on the go. But Over 2k for a fully loaded Ipad pro that will be dead within 5 years as evident with all other apple products, the price hike is too much to bear. I'd love to do this but the tablet has fallen in the luxury category rather than necessity and is competing with my other choices. Biggest concern is not this powerful tablet's capability but the restriction of iOS and the limitations of apps. For the Animation production field there was a remote possibility of the ipad to be a production tool but giving the planned obsolescence of apple and the lack of professional application that's a no go. It's one of the most art capable tech devices but the software limitations are massive issues.

Apple makes a ton of money with accessories. And I’m sure people easily lose or break them all the time.

Making mistakes like the ones you showed etc etc. Its not okay, specially on something stupidly expensive like this. You need Steve Jobs (old Steve), combined with (Old Ive) to strictly not finding this issues to be okay. Apple need a new lead, a new generation that takes over with genius and vision, just like the old guys had before in their time, and not a maintainer and a "golden" copy that needs to shallowly follow in Steves footsteps.
