Is there much difference between using a combined vdsl modem+router and going with a separate modem like the draytek vigor 130 and connecting a router?

What he’s saying is irrelevant. Your router is exactly how fast it says it is as long as the tech has been standardized, period. Useless video.

But if there are say 4 or 5 phones using the same router a better one would be worth the money correct?

You missed the 4th speed…ISP speed. My ISP said I needed a mesh system so my 5G range would be better because my speeds were 108 ⬇️ 6⬆️. I changed my channels during peak times and guess what? My 5G has better range so I do not need a mesh system AND my internet speeds are 596 ⬇️ 28⬆️.

Don't waste your time on these new puck sized devices. They have no range especially on 5ghz. Get a router with external antennas for sure.

instead of telling people not to believe advertisement how about you give them "real world speed" break down per router with actual real world experience. from fast-to-slow instead of blanketing bullshit all over all routers?

I have a google fiber network box it’s crap only support 802.11n but I am getting a netgear 802.11ac and I am not complaining about the speed it’s the range of the router (google fiber one) so I am 👀 no to improve the range with a new router because 802.11ac has better range than 802.11n
